It’s not just about content and popularity. This contest is one decided upon back links.  Websites that have few or no back links are uninhabited, unimportant and just collecting cyber dust! Back links are the most important thing other than good content to getting your site ranked in the Top of the search engines. This isn't hard though when you know what you are doing.

4.                 Poor web content.

No one is going through the long and arduous journey of clicking their mouse button TWICE if it means landing on a page with dumb content.  Yeah, you know who you are!  (Not you…talking to the guy next to you)  SEO-rich articles have to be written for people, not just for bots.Don't stuff your articles with keywords thinking you are doing any good. Google says they are looking for relevant content that is unique to the topic.

5.                   Investing in poor website design.
